Daniel Cartier, recent graduate of the MFA program at the University of Pennsylvania, is showcasing three works at our Annual Emerging Talent Exhibition which will be on view until August 13th. Cartier brings to life large scale paintings through layering found imagery against bright colors. In works, such as “Always Maintained,” completed in 2017, Cartier entrances viewers with multiple places for the eye to rest to then be caught up in the swirling system of information she employs. Featured work: Always Maintained, 2017, Acrylic paint and mixed media on stretched canvas, 5’x7’ #UPENN #penndesign #seraphingallery
Yaochi Jin, recent masters graduate from the University of Pennsylvania is showcasing four works at our Annual Emerging Talent Exhibition which will be on view until August 13th. In these works Yaochi shows viewers an interpretation of meaning and viewpoint. Yaochi gives viewers an abstracted interpretation of forms taking place in our lives, bringing forth existing shapes that appear invented, but in fact occur naturally. Featured work: When you feel the sunlight shines, 2017, Acrylic on canvas, 60” x 72”. #UPENN #penndesign #seraphingallery
Holly Matthews, recent graduate from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts with a master in Painting, is showcasing four works at our Annual Emerging Talent Exhibition which will be on view until August 13th. The works selected were a part of her Identity Project series where she uses representation of friends and family to create multiple angular portraiture forms. These unique viewpoints allude to the mystery’s a face can hold and the level of identity a portrait can portray. Featured work: "Ray", 2017, oil on canvas, 30” x 24”. #PAFA #seraphingallery
