Thank you letter to Officer Nathaniel Taylor
Thank you letter to Officer Nathaniel Taylor

Many thanks for your kind present of Porter which I have accepted, although it is contrary to my established custom. Therefore you will have the goodness to forgive my stating what my resolution is. But I assure you Dear Sir that I feel all your kindness on this occasion as well as for the trouble you was so good as to take with my things in the Foudroyant."

[Aboard the HMS Victory], 7 October 1803.

The HMS Foudroyant served as Horatio Nelson's flagship from June 1799 through June of the following year.
