John Hultberg, famed contemporary artist and master of abstract realism, tackles the deep and obscure crevasses of the mind through painting. With linear perspectives and angular shapes, he invents dark and enigmatic worlds for his viewers. His studies began at The Art Students League in 1952 where, alongside great artist such as Richard Diebenkorn, Mark Rothko, and Clyfford Still, he developed his unique morphing of both intangible and tangible forms with attention to detail, bold color use, and strong composition. His works are in the permanent collections of galleries such as the Guggenheim Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Portland Museum of Art, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
