Nathaniel Hawthorne

American novelist and short story writer (1804–1864) known for such works as The Scarlet Letter, The House of the Seven Gables, and Twice-Told Tales. Ink signature, "Examined, Nath. Hawthorne,” on an off-white 4.5 x 1.5 slip. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold, and a thin drawn vertical line passing through the last name. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
