The document reads, in part: "I hereby authorize and direct the Secretary of State to affix the Seal of the United States to a Warrant for the pardon of Elijah A, Peyton." Signed, "U. S. Grant." Docketed in pencil on verso.

Condition: Evenly toned with flattened folds. Small separations at intersections along integral fold. Scattered soiling to both leaves.
